PAST COMMUNITY EVENTS
Aaron Maybin and Matthew Rice Art Show
On Friday, April 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Aaron Maybin and Matthew Rice exhibited their artwork at HeARTwares. Guests enjoyed refreshments and conversation amongst the vibrant paintings and prints by Aaron and Matthew, as well as the unique artwork by Art with a Heart participants.
The Modern Classic
On Thursday, April 26th, American Office teamed up with Herman Miller to host The Modern Classic, an event to celebrate the art of furniture. All proceeds from this event benefitted Art with a Heart. Art with a Heart will use this funds to help support summer programming for youth ages five to ten years old.
AWARDS
Art with a Heart received the Partnership Award from Lakeland Elementary/Middle School in December. Nominated by the school's teachers and staff, we are honored and humbled by this community recognition.
For the second year, Art with a Heart collaborated with New York Jets' Aaron Maybin for his week-long event, Celebration of the Arts. During the week, Aaron and Matthew Rice, ex NFL player and founder of Mateo Blu, visited Art with a Heart classes at East Baltimore Community School, Dr. Rayner Browne Elementary/Middle School, and Lakeland Elementary/Middle School, to work with our students. At the culminating event on March 3rd at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, Art with a Heart was honored with the 2012 Project Mayhem Palette of Excellence Award for outstanding commitment to youth art education and community outreach. |
